Happy Birthday Kobe

Well today is August 23 and that means the best player that we have in basketball just turned 32.
Kobe scored the 2nd most points in a game (81). Second only to Wilt's 100.

A recap

I've been away for awhile and I know I've missed some opportune time to comment on key events in our history, ie Lebron, Apple iPhone 4, iPhone 4 problems, etc.

First off is LeBron James. The best player in game stats and athletic ability-wise left his "hometown" team (remember he is actually from Akron, Ohio the Clev) to join two of his buddies, Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh, in the great city of Miami to play for the Heat. Mr. James made this decision by hosting an hour long ESPN special cleverly titled "The Decision" where the advertising money benefitted the Boys and Girls Club of Akron. I was mad, not at LeBron going to the Heat but him taking an hour out of my life to watch the show and he only talked for 15 minutes in a hugely unpopular PR move. One thing that was inspired by Bron-Bron was the dark beard (I'm currently rocking it). And thats all I have to say about that (Forrest Gump voice).

Next up is the Apple iPhone 4. Who wasn't excited for the next generation of iPhone with it's sleek, clean lines and dual camera video call enabling software. I wanted one so bad that I was willing to sell things like an NYC crack-head. Better judgment and a lack of funds prevailed and alas I stuck with my 3GS. Fast forward a couple of weeks to the release date: "my phone is dropping calls when I hold it a certain way" echos throughout. Apple's first reaction is to hold it differently. Then they hold a press conference where Steve Jobs, CEO compares other smartphone by holding their products in the same way. Result? Bars decrease. It was like they wanted take the focus off of antena-gate and say all phone are the same reception-wise. There next step was to tell the people that they screwed up the algorithm that calculates signal strength (false full bars). We all know Apple loves its customers so to get back in the good graces the fruit is offering free bumpers to all who purchased the new iPhone 4. Nice recovery.

My final thought is about Roger Clemens. This fool said that he misremembered taking steroids or being injected by his trainer under oath to Congress. This whole steroid and baseball this weak and its funny how many people lied and then got caught. I hope he does some time.

Until next time kiddos.

Sith Empire NBA Edition

Well, we all know that yesterday was a big day in sports history. LeBron "King" James has decided to abandon his native Cleveland Cavaliers to join Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade on the Miami Heat. These three superstars form one of the most formidable alliances in the history of the NBA. If the Heat, behind Pat Riley's best Darth Sidious impression, can bring in some seasoned NBA veterans looking for a ring around this core group, then the Heat will become a great dynasty for five to six years.

SMH I'm Slackin'?!?

WOW I must be slacking or something. Anyway, we all know that the Los Angeles Lakers won he 2010 NBA Championship over the much hated Celtics for their 16th NBA Championship. I knew all along that they were going to win; that was never in question. However, the best part of the chip run was...... Ron-Ron. Yes, Ron Artest. His up and down season was highlighted by his genuine happiness in winning his first ring (and Kobe passing him the ball). With quotes like, "I'd like to thank my 'hood and my psychiatrist!" and "I got a Wheaties box?!" Congrats Ron-Ron and the Lakers! Let's get another 3-Peat next year.
